March 23, 2009

as i mentioned i am over due to show off some new photos.

just thought i'd show off my new lavender velveteen skirt (sorry it is hard to see in the photo ) while shopping at walmart!
since it's still chilly out i wore my black leather blazer too. this is one i had the tailor cut back the lapels and collar on. he is a magician! this jacket doesnt have buttons only a belt but it is almost knee lenght so it was helpfull with the wind gusts we have been having in central nj.

    March 20, 2009

    Happy spring everybody!

hope everyone had a good st Patricks day!
i took my aunt and dad out for lunch to a great resterant called O'Conners in somerset nj. this is a 1790's farm house with it's originaal barns and out buildings that are now used for office space. even at lunch time they had a band and some pippers and the step dancers. who ranged in age from 1st grade to high school they were good and the littlest one s were soooo cute. i love the curly hair falls they attach to their hair and the beautyfull outfits with the gold trim.

i haven't had much time to enter any blog notes as i was able to go out shoppping as Diana about 8 times in january and 12 ( a new record high)  in febuary. yeeeeaaaa!

during that time i have had some nice complements from gg's while shopping. one from a minaster who told me she liked my hair!
even as diana i converse easly (actually as both selves - i think actually it's part of being half of the "silver tounged" Irish heritage)
it feels wonderful to be so accepted into gg "girl chat" it makes e feel wonderfull!
    '
anyway i'll share with rou the adventures of the last day or so.

the day before last i stopped t o get milk and a few supplies at stop and shop as well as ording a book at borders books store. i had worn my green wool a nice white blouse a black leather blazer (since it somewhat warmed up a bit here) and a pair of black pumps. whell i got back home still as diana since it was 11 pm and luckly removed my shoes and leather jacket having put on a pair of satin "dear foam " slippers and proceeded to start putting away the food from the store as i went to put the second 1/2 gal of milk...... i hit the enge of the shelf..... and yep you guesed it , it landed on the floor aaaahhhhhh the sealed top poped off flying accros the floor and of course the bottle tipped over and dumping 3/4 of the bottle creating a milky" pond" in the center of the kitchen. that milk went every where! it even splashed up 3 shelves high in the open refergerator as well as splashing up my legs, onto my wool skirt and creating smaller pools inside my slippers!  for a min i didn't know where to start cleaning up first.
after mopping up the floor , rinceing the entrance throw rug, throwing the slippers in the wash tossing the panty hose (a run had started from my rings in the rest room earlier anyway ) and a seperate wash load of all my other clothes (accept the skirt which went to the cleaners first thing and the rug went to the local 1 day laundry). and finally a shower just to wash off the milk!
i finally got to bed at 3 am! and just to add insult to injury the next morning i found the breast forms still laying on the coumputer desk next to the washer where i am sure my dad noticed when doing his wash this morning and hopefully just thought of them as some sort of work project since this is allso the shop area for my work. oh well!

anyway after taking my dad and aunt out for yesterday for his birthday (which is really today the first day of spring) it just gave me an excuse to get dressed as diana again and go back to stop and shop for more milk. which i mannaged to put away properly this time.

in looking back at least the milk these days in my areaof usa comes in in plastic jugs so at least i didn't have broken glass to clean up.
and i hear in the old days the very wealthy roylity actually took milk baths for their complection.

by today it seems kind of humorious (and a bit sad when i think of those who would give anyting for that milk in parts of the world where they can't just go out and buy more).

but it ended well and i actually got chance to try out my new lavender swade skirt (which i found needs a accesory liner or a slip since it tends to kling to my stockings but then again that is another story.

sorry i don't have any new photos i never seem to have anyone to take them for me.

    once again happy spring!
    hugs

    January 21, 2009

well here it is "new beginnings" like the start of a new day or a clean piece of drawing paper. that along with the start of a new year.
we now have a new president who has given us great hope for the future. may god give him strenth and wisdom as he will need it.
i liked the "we " in his speach and his closing comment that a decendent of someone not welcomed into certian stores could become the highest leader in the country. and this doesn't just refer to his heritage but all of us that are decendents of immagrents. my families came form ireland and germany and the irish were told they were not wanted accept as workers. and so it has gone with each new immagrent until they "have" become "us" as friends, relitaves and neighbors. then suddenly it's " oh he's not a foreigner he's just our "*" what ever (friend , relitive ect.)
we in the trans comunity and those in the greater community of the glbt really are only begining to understand this. "we" are part of a greater community that of the united states and the world and the human race. it is all part of the evolution of the human race. educaton brings wisdom. and the importance of fitting in and somewhat blending in .

sorry i got off the usually places i went and clothing choices today but i needed to share this in print.

meanwhile back in the jungle LOL i have had several chances to get out as diana in spite of the 6 degree temp outside this past week. it just ment digging out my heavier tights (i prefer panty hose) longer wool skirt, dress boots, fancier sweaters and long wool dress coat. now if that isn't bad enough just attempt this quick change "on the run" when it is this cold out.
ok i'll let you in on a secret actually the advantage of it being this cold out is i could wear it all onder slax and ... sometimes i used a womans cotten manish blouse with womans sweater vest. sooo only the dress coat got changed and i only needed to "loose" the slax. most times i usually have allready applyed a light coat of makeup at home so this cuts the change time too.

anyway to all those in the colder weather areas stay warm.

    January 01, 2009

    happy new year everyone!

it is said in an old supperstition that what one does on the first day of the new year one does the rest of the year! LOL but that just gave me an excuse to go out dressed as diana both last night and today! yeaaa!
but....it has been soooo very unusually cold for a dec. nj . yesterday was 20 degrees outside with a wind chill that made it like 0 degrees.
so i had to break out the longer marone leather skirt and black boots and today i even sore a sweater blouse along with my black long dress coat.
weatherwise today was a bit better since the wind died down.
an i actuall found places to go shopping both days! LoL nothing fancy just the food store today LOL but i did check out a couple department stores in an open air mall near me.
last night i got back by 8pm in time to spend the remainder of the evening with famialy welcoming in the new year.

also along with the afore mentioned supersition and since i am a muscian and car buff i try to do al little something related to both of those items as well.

today i prepared our famialys' treditional new years dinner of pork chops baked with sour kraut along with mashed potatos and green beans.
a delightfull dinner for my dad and i.

on another note i just checked my taly for going out as diana this past year and figured out i had managed to get out 61 times this doesn't include when i dress in womans slax and shirt blouse when i am in guy mode nor does it include most bed times in a satin night gown.
as i keep saying for someone who say they are not planning to transition i seem to be dressing as diana more each year. this past year was only about 3-4 more days than the last but that was 3-4 more than the previous.
i know this only represents about 1/8 of the year but i never thought i could become so passable and classy dressed meany years ago. nor did i expect to be soooo accepted as to be told by 1 or 2 gg's that i look almost better as a woman. in fact when i stop by the one consignment shop in guy mode she asks if i can change and squeezee in some diana time!

in retrospect it has been a busy several years betweeen my mothers passsing and with in 6 months an uncle and then this past year an aunt with her house to clean out. wow it has been non stop and a wonder that i had any diana time. it is just though shear determanation that i get any diana time at all.
part of the trick is to have a diana tote with some extra supplies for the switch. ie jewlery, shoes blouse of the day and skirt along with foundaton undies and almost forgot ....makeup (how could i forget this LOL) unless i wear all this (includeing light make up) under my guy clothes and then shed them sort of like a fem super hero LOL. along with the coat to match the weather in nj (where one can roast or freezee)
whew just talking about all that prep work is exsausting for this blond! LOL

and with that it is time for some hot chocolete and some much need beauty rest.

again happy new year to all and to all a good night!

    hugs

      December 31, 2008

i just want to wish everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR!

i have managed to get out as Diana several times this past week for errands but didn't have any time to enter it in the blog. sorry .
if i can manage getting out tomorrow I'll have managed to get out 12 times this month . yeaaa!

nothing fancy clothing wise just my green skirt, green stripe shirt with a white woman's sweater vest or white blouse , black pumps and black dress coat. usually to the food store, one of several thrift stores and delivering a few gifts to friends as Diana. i did manage in this economy to buy a few pieces of clothing including a skirt suit at the one of the local thrift stores.
even as my other self i have continued to wear a light eyeliner and light makeup which makes me feel wonderful all day. i have had to switch to a waterproof eyeliner since mableline seems to have stopped stocking the waxy eye pencils i used to use. agghhhh
but at least the new ones i don't have to sharpen or worry about poking myself in the eye LOL.

again have happy, healthy and prosperous new year!

      Hugs

      December 24, 2008

first i want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and happy new year!

new jersey has been in the big freeze this last weekend . first a mix of sow and rain that froze last friday. then sat. the temp went down to 16 with 40 -50 mph winds. and althought i did brave going out on sunday i needed my black boots, a green wool skirt, warm cotton blouse and a long black dress coat.

i dislike winter. so much that i can't even enjoy colorfull fall in nj worying about the season of winter coming. Burrrrr. just the thoughts of it make me chilly. LOL

the interesting thing is that once into winter i do winter acctivities like skating. i prefer to do this outside if possable but an indoor rink will do.

then we get to the middle of bland dark january i really miss the sunlight and since i have exema (skin imune system issues) i need a little sunshine. i often think we need to move the holidays further into the mid to end of january. this would give us more time to shop.
the bright holiday lights would remain up and on till later in the winter. that way it would be much more cheerfull in january. can anyone arrange this pleaseeeee? giggle giggle.

on the other had a famialy friend has lived in hawaii for many years and gets island fevor wishing to see the fall colors and snow. (she can have my share of the icy stuff) and don't tell me about germs. so. califorina doesn't have snow and they done't have any more germs than us on the north east area.
another former nj shore friend has the best of both worlds she teaches in so calf in the winter and goes to the nj shore for the summner as believe it or not it is not as rough ocean wise in nj verses the la area.
anyway once again all have a very merry christmas and a happy new year.

      December 17, 2008

this spoof on holiday eating came from a relitive va e mail and i thought it was cute enough to share with everyone.

      HOLIDAY EATING TIPS

      1. Avoid carrot sticks. Anyone who puts carrots on a holiday buffet
table knows nothing of the Christmas spirit. In fact, if you see carrots,
leave immediately. Go next door, where they're serving rum balls.

      2. Drink as much eggnog as you can. And quickly. It's rare.. You cannot
find it any other time of year but now. So drink up! Who cares that it
has10,000 calories in every sip? It's not as if you're going to turn into
an eggnog-oholic or something. It's a treat. Enjoy it. Have one for me.
Have two. It's later than you think. It's Christmas!

      3. If something comes with gravy, use it. That's the whole point of
gravy. Gravy does not stand alone. Pour it on. Make a volcano out of your
mashed potatoes. Fill it with gravy. Eat the volcano. Repeat.

      4. As for mashed potatoes, always ask if they're made with skim milk or
whole milk. If it's skim, pass. Why bother? It's like buying a sportscar
      with an automatic transmission.

      5. Do not have a snack before going to a party in an effort to control
your eating. The whole point of going to a Christmas party is to eat other
people's food for free. Lots of it. Hello?

      6. Under no circumstances should you over exercise between now and New Year's.
You can do that in January (with daily trips to the gym…)when you have nothing else to
      do. This is
the time for long naps, which you'll need after circling the buffet table
while carrying a 10-pound plate of food and that vat of eggnog.

      7. If you come across something really good at a buffet table, like
frosted Christmas cookies in the shape and size of Santa, position
yourself near them and don't budge. Have as many as you can before
becoming the center of attention. They're like a beautiful pair of
shoes. If you leave them behind, you're never going to see them again.

      8. Same for pies. Apple, Pumpkin, Mincemeat. Have a slice of each.
Or if you don't like mincemeat, have two apples and one pumpkin. Always have
three. When else do you get to have more than one dessert? Labor Day?

      9. Did someone mention fruitcake? Granted, it's loaded with the
mandatory celebratory calories, but avoid it at all cost. I mean, have some
      standards!

      10. One final tip: If you don't feel terrible when you leave the party

      or get up from the table, you haven't been paying attention. Re-read tips;

start over, but hurry, January is just around the corner. Remember this

      motto to live by:

"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving

safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in

sideways, chocolate in one hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn

out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"

(i don't know if i fully agree with the motto giggle giggle LOL
but do enjoy each day for what it is worth)

Have a great Christmas and a happy New Year!

      hugs to all
      Diana
